Caricature Updates

The best part of caricature/ live sketching is it you improve much faster than drawing alone.  Something about drawing on the spot in front of an audience pushes you in ways drawing in the privacy of your room simply doesn't.  The pressure is a blessing and makes you stronger.

It is interesting looking at my sketches throughout last year.  I see how I have improve and appreciate the steps I took to grow, even if they are tiny steps. 

Jenna was the model and she is excellent.  Fun to draw!

More Caricatures!

 An update of caricatures I have done recently.  I am happy to say I have gotten faster in my caricatures and I think I have improved.

God Loves You

 I was waiting for a bus late at night and I saw this message spray painted near my stop.  I do not consider myself a professional photographer, but I felt I needed to take this photo and have it on a postcard for others.  The people who have received it so far have loved the card and its message.  

More Caricatures!

 I have been apart of a few more caricature gigs since my last post.  I feel myself getting faster and more confident in myself.  Looking forward to more events where I can grow my skills and business opportunities.  

It is a challenge to sit and draw with eyes on me, and I still on occasion get self conscious about it, but I do improve.  I do feel a sense of satisfaction at the end of a caricature gig.  

Claudio

 Claudio is one of the first professional models I ever drew in person.  He and I go way back to 2007,  observing my artistic journey throughout the years.  I was very proud to make a drawing of him that he loved and I do have him (and many excellent models like him) to thank for my help throughout my art journey.

The Jon Side

 I recently had a silly event happen at work and I drew this homage to Gary Larson's classic "The Far Side".  I do enjoy modeling but some days I do just want to draw ;) .
